Fourth (and fifth!) Album from The Skiffle Minstrels

With live shows on hold indefinitely, The Skiffle Minstrels are recording their fourth record in a creative, covid friendly way. The rhythm section: Paul Todaro/bass, Phil Knoerzer/guitar, and Bill Hutchison/drums recorded 21 titles at two sessions in August with one engineer (Gary Holt). Social distancing was practiced and a great live feel was captured - all three played together and the vocals were done at the same time for an authentic sounding Western Swing experience. Soloists Jim Whitford/steel guitar, Chris Jones/fiddle and Dave Mussen/clarinet will record their tracks from home to be mixed into 2 new records. Fifteen tunes will be pressed on CD and called (so far) "Crowd Favorites." The titles include Miles and Miles of Texas, There Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens and Bob Wills classics like That's What I Like About the South and Take Me Back to Tulsa. A six tune EP called (so far) "Skiff-Originals" will be available online. Titles include brand new recordings (first with the current line up) of All God's Chillun Gotta Dance, Austin Dam, Wonder Why, Louisiana Texas, Western Swing Thing, and All Night Diner. Release date (so far) is late in 2020!
