Ameripolitan Day 

In 2018 the National Ameripolitan Music Awards named Sportsmens Tavern in Buffalo, NY the best venue on the planet for Honky Tonk, Outlaw Country and Western Swing. Now Dwane Hall and the Sportsmens family celebrate the opening of a new outdoor venue on August 4, 2019 with Ameripolitan Day. Buffalo's The Skiffle Minstrels and the Steam Donkeys open the show for The Lustre Kings, Bill Kirchen and Dale Watson!

The Skiffle Minstrels Trio 

The popular Western Swing band The Skiffle Minstrels have launched a trio version of the group. Dave Mussen on Guitar and Clarinet, Chris Jones on Fiddle and Guitar and Paul Todaro on Upright Bass and vocals offer Western Swing classics and jazz standards in a light, loose and compact style. The trio is scheduled to appear at Buffalo's Duende at Silo City this spring.

Kristyn Harris and Hailey Sandoz 

Paul Todaro (Bass Fiddle) and Skiffle Minstrels emeritus Gary Meixner (Lap Steel) will back the Texas duo at a Cowboy Christmas event for charity in Eden, NY on 12/7/18. Kristyn and Hailey have won multiple awards and traveled the globe playing Western Swing.

The Skiffle Minstrels were voted Best Band of 2018 by the Sportsmens Americana Music Foundation tying with The Kensingtons.

"Best Band" The Skiffle Minstrels 

The Sportsmens Americana Music Foundation has nominated The Skiffle Minstrels as the "best band" of 2018. The winner will be announced at the annual ceremony on October 15th at Sportsmens Tavern. Good Luck!

Live From Black Rock Debut 

Sportsmen's Americana Music Foundation's show Live From Black will air on WWBZ local TV in Buffalo, NY on Tuesday June 21st at 6:30 PM and Thursday 6/23 at 10:30 PM. This Pilot episode features performances by The Skiffle Minstrels and Leroy Townes.

Big Band 

on January first, 2016 The Skiffle Minstrels' big band sound got a little bigger. Please welcome Dave Mussen on the Clarinet and Jim Whitford on Steel Guitar. The great Gary Meixner and his Steel Guitar will also make several appearances with the band. Western Swing on!

Live from Black Rock Pilot 

The Skiffle Minstrels and The Leroy Townes Band will be the featured artists in the pilot episode of Live From Black Rock. The show is an Austin City Limits style live music show brought to you by Sportsmens Americana Music Foundation. The Pilot will be taped with a live audience at Sportsmens Tavern in Buffalo, NY on Monday, 11/16/15 at 7pm.

Happy Hour Nomination 

The Skiffle Minstrels latest record "Happy Hour" and its lead off, original track "Louisiana, Texas" have both been nominated for album and song of the year by The Academy of Western Artist in Forth Worth Texas in the Western Swing category. Other nominees include Asleep at the Wheel, Light Crust Doughboys and Western Swing Authority. Thanks!
